Job Title: Contracts and Procurement Specialist
Location: Booragoon, Western Australia
Expected Duration: 6 months initially
Reporting To: Project Services Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a commercially astute and proactive Contracts and Procurement Specialist to assist with oversight of contract and procurement activities for the Gallium Project. With a combined value exceeding $200M, successful delivery of the engineering, construction and procurement contracts are critical to the success of the project. The role demands pragmatism and strong stakeholder engagement combined with contract execution capabilities and a focus on ensuring delivery to schedule, as well as scope and budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the projects interests in contract and procurement activities, to ensure timely decisions are made within contractual bounds.
  • Provide initiative to drive contract and procurement activities to ensure schedule milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with the Alcoa Procurement and Legal teams to coordinate contract execution and variation management, including maintenance of variation registers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Legal, Engineering, Operations) to ensure obligations and risks are appropriately met in contract and procurement activities.
  • Contribute pragmatical to dispute resolution processes and ensure potential impacts to project outcomes are communicated to stakeholders or escalated within the project team.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and audit-ready records for all contract activities.
Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Engineering.
  • Significant experience managing EPC or D&C contracts in mining/resources or similar industries.
  • Relevant experience in contract negotiation and procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage complex contracts.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder management.
  • Working knowledge of safety management, minerals processing, and project engineering highly regarded.
  • Experience with international suppliers, particularly European, is highly regarded
