Summary:
The Electrical Plant Specialist/Engineer supports the operation and maintenance of low- and medium-voltage systems at the Limestone Plant (2-unit, 1750MW coal facility). This role provides advanced technical support for electrical systems, manages projects, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for plant electrical systems including breakers, MCCs, switchgears, relays, VFDs, UPS systems, batteries, drives, transformers, and cathodic protection.
  • Lead or support NERC compliance and safety programs.
  • Manage repair budgets, inspections, and contractor performance.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets for maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Conduct field inspections, oversee electrical maintenance, and validate contractor work.
  • Hight and Medium Voltage experience (480 to 240KV experience)
  • Troubleshooting issues in a plant environment
  • Prefered utility and power background (Not a deal breaker)
  • P&ID expierence
  • Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and corporate engineering teams to improve system reliability.
  • Support training, documentation, and root cause analysis for electrical issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years of power plant experience, or 8+ years of equivalent experience in operations, maintenance, or electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of plant electrical systems, construction, and repair methods.
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to work in field and office environments, including around energized equipment.
Additional Details:
  • May require non-standard hours to support 24/7 operations.
  • Pay: 70 – 75 per hour (Plus Per diem/per day)
  • Per-Diem and expenses will be paid while on contract.
  • This will be contract to hire and they will have access to relocation package in the future and bonus when on direct will be $20k - $40k
