Position: Financial Accountant Department: Finance & Legal
Reports to: Head of Consolidation & Accounting
Overview
As part of the Finance & Legal department, the Financial Accountant supports several legal entities within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role involves close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial processing and reporting.

Scope of the Role
  • Responsible for approximately 5–6 legal entities
  • Managing multiple bank accounts per entity
  • Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
Key Responsibilities Accounting & Administration
  • Process incoming and outgoing invoices, ensuring all documentation and approvals are complete for timely payment.
  • Handle recharges to related parties and third parties, including the preparation and collection of supporting documents.
  • Monitor receipts and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Post and reconcile bank statements for each entity, with special attention to month-end activities.
  • Investigate and resolve unreconciled bank items and other open issues.
  • Maintain orderly filing of financial documents such as invoices, payments, and bank statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end closing of head office accounts and prepare financial reports (Balance Sheet and P&L) for management.
  • Serve as the primary contact for queries related to entity-level financials.
  • Liaise regularly with internal departments including Legal, Tax, and international finance teams.
  • Support the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements for each entity.
  • Assist internal and external auditors with requested analyses and documentation.
  • Contribute to tax-related processes including VAT, CIT, wage tax, and other regulatory reporting.
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
  • Prepare quarterly group financial reporting packages in line with corporate accounting standards.
  • Maintain and improve Excel-based reporting tools and ensure accurate intercompany reconciliations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of consolidated annual accounts under Dutch GAAP and IFRS.
  • Participate in the transition of accounting data and processes from Excel to SAP, ensuring data accuracy and continuity.
Treasury
  • Prepare and process batch and manual payments through various banking systems.
  • Monitor payment schedules to ensure compliance with contractual deadlines.
  • Review and reconcile daily bank statements and follow up on discrepancies.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum MBO-level accounting education (or equivalent), with at least 8 years of relevant accounting experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with 0–3 years of experience.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with Dutch GAAP and IFRS is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
