Head of Strategy & Insights – Product Development (QR.10) Location: Doha, Qatar

About the Role As Head of Strategy & Insights, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Qatar Airways’ onboard experience. Leading a high-performing in-house team across Strategy, Insights, Research, and PMO, you will drive strategic clarity, data-informed decisions, and innovation across all product domains — including customer experience strategy, cabin interiors, inflight entertainment and connectivity, onboard service, and food & beverage.

You will be responsible for translating insights into actionable strategies, developing frameworks that guide product development priorities, and ensuring that every initiative is underpinned by rigorous market intelligence, passenger insights, and commercial feasibility.

Key Accountabilities Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and oversee the long-term customer experience and inflight product strategies, in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs).

  • Synthesize market trends, customer research, competitive intelligence, and financial modelling to guide product direction.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support roadmap development, investment prioritization, and resource allocation.

  • Establish strategic frameworks to assess and prioritize initiatives based on business value, feasibility, and impact.

  • Support divisional OKR and KPI alignment to ensure full integration with the wider Group strategy.

Operational Excellence
  • Maintain scalable frameworks for product and experience planning, prioritization, and execution.

  • Manage the end-to-end product strategy process, ensuring clear documentation of objectives, key results, and milestones.

  • Oversee the creation, monitoring, and reporting of product and strategic roadmaps, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to business goals.

  • Implement structured governance processes to track progress, mitigate risks, and ensure accountability across divisions.

  • Lead and support executive steering committees and operational reviews to evaluate progress against strategy.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and performance tracking tools to measure KPIs and progress towards strategic objectives.

  • Foster a data-led culture, embedding analytical rigor in opportunity sizing, investment evaluation, and performance management.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a Strategy, Insights, and PMO team, cultivating high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Continuously scan the market for emerging trends, technologies, and consumer behaviors that could inform future product strategy.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in product development, strategy, or customer experience within aviation, premium travel, or hospitality sectors.

  • Proven experience leading innovation, digital transformation, and customer experience enhancement initiatives.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders through insight-driven narratives.

  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration, driving alignment and outcomes across diverse business units.

  • Strong experience in leading teams through transformation, organizational change, and new operating models.

  • Proven record of delivering measurable impact in growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

  • Commercial acumen with understanding of P&L management, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and business case development.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate trends and translate them into actionable long-term plans.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making data-informed decisions under uncertainty.
