Position Overview The Instrument and Electrical Technician II is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems in compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This role ensures production equipment operates efficiently and meets quality expectations by evaluating, testing, and repairing electrical and control systems.

Position Overview The Instrument and Electrical Technician II is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems in compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This role ensures production equipment operates efficiently and meets quality expectations by evaluating, testing, and repairing electrical and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage assigned tasks in accordance with safety, environmental, and operational standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Promote collaboration between operations, engineering, and project teams.
- Review and provide input on control system specifications and maintenance practices.
- Maintain accountability for electrical and control systems as defined by internal work management processes.
- Apply and follow work permits through the Permit to Work System (PTWS).
- Ensure timely and high-quality completion of scheduled maintenance activities.
- Continuously develop technical skills and stay current on new technologies, regulations, and methods.
- Participate in and lead technical meetings to share updates on codes, procedures, and innovations.
- Foster open communication on electrical and control matters, including safety practices and training.
- Assist in prioritizing work to enhance efficiency and support cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical guidance to peers on troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Initiate and follow through on change management requests related to electrical/control systems, including inspection of installations.
- Inspect and monitor new installations for alignment with operational goals and recommend improvements.
- Serve as backup for the Instrument and Electrical Lead when required.
- Associate degree, preferably supplemented with technical coursework.
- Experience in maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems in a processing or production environment.
- Knowledge of regulations applicable to oil and gas or industrial facilities.
- Completion of required safety, administrative, and technical training.
- Proficiency in computing and control systems.
- Demonstrated competency in operations integrity and critical technical areas.
- Strong safety awareness.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Powerline experience is mandatory.
- Preferred background: Electrician with lineman/journeyman experience in powerline maintenance.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with high-voltage systems (25KV to 125KV).
- Familiarity with digital field ticketing systems (e.g., OpenInvoice).
- Assignment may extend beyond one year.
- In-person meetings preferred at Hwy 80, Building D; Zoom available if necessary (30-minute duration).
- Agency to provide ½-ton truck.
- 4-gas monitor to be provided by the client.
