As a senior member of the geology team, you’ll be instrumental in driving the success of open-pit operations. You’ll bring technical expertise, leadership, and strategic insight to optimise resource extraction and support mine planning.
 
Duties will include:
 
  • Develop and update geological models, perform resource estimation, and integrate data into mine planning software for pit optimisation.
  • Oversee grade control processes, assess ore and waste boundaries, and coordinate with mining teams to minimise dilution and improve ore recovery.
  • Reconcile geological data, perform quality checks, and prepare clear reports to ensure consistency across models and datasets.
  • Provide geological input to short- and long-term mine planning, working closely with the engineering team to optimise pit layouts.
  • Lead and mentor a team of geologists, promote a collaborative culture, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with mine operations, safety, engineering, and environmental teams to resolve geological challenges.
  • Prepare technical reports, maintain accurate geological records, and participate in audits and feasibility studies.
 
 
What You Bring
  • Demonstrated history of success in open-pit mining geology, with significant hands-on experience in grade control, resource estimation, and mine planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
  • Proficiency in geological modelling software (e.g., Vulcan, Datamine, Leapfrog).
  • Strong knowledge of geological mapping, systems and processes
  • Proven experience with RC Grade control management and design.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
