Job Title: Maintenance Planner
Location: Norman Wells, NWT – flights out of Edmonton, AB provided
Schedule: 14/14, 12 hour days
Length: Nov 2, 2025- Nov 2, 2026 with potential for extensions
Description:
• Be accountable to create work orders and develop quality work packages for release to contractors for timely and complete execution of work
• Accountable to manage the work order cost control, scope changes & archiving
• Develop and sustain Standard Job Plans
• Develop & sustain Key Performance Indicators to improve work processes
• Schedule all maintenance work in SAP/Prometheus load level and manage work capacities
Expectations:
• Work is executed on time and within approved budget
• No recycle of incomplete work packages other than for a scope change
• improved work effectiveness and efficiency
• Promote/improve safe work practices within the contractor community
Key capabilities (minimum qualifications)
• 5 Years minimum Maintenance Planning required – please note this is a minimum requirement, candidates without this will not be considered
• Pipefitting Trade
• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
• The ability to communicate well with multi-disciplinary groups and various levels (internal, external, contractors)
• A positive, results-oriented attitude and focus
• Ability to effectively interact with others
• Computer skills (SAP/Meridium/Prometheus)
Highly desirable capabilities/skills:
• Strong knowledge of API/ICSA codes
• Ability to develop isometric drawings and read P&ID’s
• General understanding of trades, ie: inst/elec/measurement/wellservicing
• Experience in interfacing with contractors
• Decision making
• Computer skills (SAP/Meridium/Prometheus)
• Analytical/technical
• Scheduling capabilities
• Administrative skills
• Adaptable to change
• Experience depth
• Motivation and commitment
• Conflict resolution
• Continuous improvement / willingness to change
Work environment
A constantly changing work environment (work activities, schedule/plan changes) with fluctuating levels of activities and high work volume. The successful candidate needs to be able to work with minimal supervision and direction.
Business information:
Norman wells plant includes oil separation, gas compression, NGL recovery, produced water treating / injection, and power generation facilities. Norman Wells has been producing oil since the 1920’s.
*Current production is 5 kbd and is shipped to southern markets via Enbridge pipeline to Zama Lake.
Community information:
A northern community located between the Mackenzie and Franklin mountain ranges on the Mackenzie River. Town is ideally suited for outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, wilderness travel. Rec facilities - hockey arena, fitness center, curling club, ball diamond, seasonal public swimming pool, public tennis courts, 4 hole all grass golf course, and cross country ski trails. Modern school from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Health center staffed by RN's.
