We are seeking a Quality Inspector (Mechanical) to join our team on a major construction programme. This role will suit someone with strong experience in mechanical systems inspections and a deep understanding of quality control processes on complex construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring that construction activities meet design specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of LLE (Long Lead Equipment) and OFCI (Owner Furnished Contractor Installed) mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems on site, including HVAC, chilled water, process piping, fire protection, and other mechanical installations.
  • Verify that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards (e.g., ASHRAE, EN standards, local codes).
  • Raise and track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely close-out of issues.
  • Support quality audits and participate in internal and external inspections.
  • Review and verify contractor quality documentation, including inspection and test plans (ITPs) and method statements.
  • Collaborate with site teams, contractors, and client representatives to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality-related communications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives on quality processes and standards.
Your Profile
  • 5+ years’ experience in a quality inspection role within the construction industry, with a focus on mechanical systems.
  • Experience on large-scale construction projects (e.g., data centres, industrial facilities, life sciences).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical construction practices, materials, and testing methods.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Experience of installation of LLE/OFCI equipment in large scale construction environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills.
  • Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (diploma, degree, or equivalent).
