NES Fircroft are currently recruiting a Piping Materials Engineer for our client in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension.

CLIENT OVERVIEW
Our Client is a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems (SPM) and operator of Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSO). The client has built a technological lead specialising in design, development, lease and operation of tanker-based production and storage systems and has become a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems. The client currently owns and operates a number of Floating Production Storage and Offloading Systems (FPSOs).

FUNCTION
As a Piping Engineer, you are responsible for delivering high-quality engineering output across the full scope of piping work, ensuring alignment with project specifications, budgets, and schedules. You report to the Lead (Project) Engineer, providing updates on progress, challenges, and risks. Timely responses to interdisciplinary reviews, client and vendor queries, and certifying authority requests are essential. We are looking for an experienced Piping Material Engineer who can prepare material and valve specifications, but also do reviews and discipline checks for piping deliverables. Responsibilites will include: 
  • Developing basic and detailed designs for process piping on FPSOs and SPM systems
  • Preparing specifications for piping materials, valves, and special items
  • Engaging with vendors and reviewing technical documentation
  • Participating in HAZID sessions and supporting client and third-party approvals
  • Reviewing fabrication and construction drawings and addressing site queries
  • Identifying technical risks and reporting achievements and concerns to your Section Head

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree or Technical College in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Around 8 years of relevant experience in piping materials engineering.
  • Experience with piping materials engineering in basic and detailed phase of a project.
  • Knowledge of piping materials, piping equipment, pipe stress and affinity with piping design.
  • Knowledge of relevant international design codes and standards. A good communicator with a pro-active attitude, able to work independently and striving for high quality results.
  • Proficient in English, verbally as well as in writing.
