We are currently recruiting a Process Control Engineer for a Major Oil & Gas Operator in Onslow, Western Australia from the 1st November 2025 on a 2 year contract. (Full relocation is provided)
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering stable process operation and optimization of the LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) plant through the development, improvement, and maintenance of advanced process control applications.
You will also engage with process engineers and plant operators to understand plant issues/constraints and identify process control opportunities to improve plant stability and production performance.


The Process Control Engineer will:
  • Work with control system and instrument engineers to plan control modifications, troubleshoot logic problems, identify, and diagnose field device issues.
  • Monitor plant operation and propose improvements to control strategy or operation strategy to effect improvements in efficiency and/or production.
  • Maintain and develop Advanced Process Control applications using Aspen DMC3.
  • Manage changes safely through the appropriate MOC (Management of Change) and Automation Change Request (ACR) processes.
    Provide engineering guidance to the operations team on plant operation, including communicating changes, and writing process control guidelines.
Top 3 Must have skills:
  • Demonstrated relevant process engineering or controls engineering experience working in an operating/design facility and/or chemical plant/refinery
  • Experience with Advanced Process Control, DMC3 preferred, or other relevant APC package.
  • Familiarity with Yokogawa Centum VP or other control systems, additionally any demonstrated skills with writing code, data analytics, IT (Information Technology) automation.
Additional:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering - chemical/process, instrument & controls, or relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience participating in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), SOA (Safety and Operability Analysis) / LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis)
