We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Mine Geologist to join a dynamic geology team at our clients Gold mining operation. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of grade control processes, supporting production targets, and contributing to the overall success of the mine.
 
 
Duties will include:
  • Assisting with early grade control drill programs, including daily management, drill planning and scheduling, liaising with grade control drillers, and data validation.
  • Interpretation of deposit mineralisation, lithology and structure by in-pit mapping and sampling.
  • Collaborate with the mine planning team to provide geological input into daily, weekly, and monthly mine plans.
  • Design ore blocks, conduct ore mark outs, ore spotting and bench mapping to reduce dilution, maximise recovery of ore and to ensure correct stockpile control.
  • Collation of geological and production data and reports
  • Logistical planning and project management.
  • Mentor and support junior geologists and field technicians.
 
 
The Requirements:
  • BSc (Geology) or equivalent.
  • Open Pit GOLD experience required with a strong focus on grade control
  • Proficient in Surpac and Micromine software
  • Understanding of QAQC procedures, drilling and sampling practices and standard gold industry laboratory analytical methods.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current Manual C-Class Driver’s Licence.
