                            NES Fircroft are currently looking for a Senior Subsea Valves Engineer to join their Operator client on a 12-month contract. 
Position: Senior Subsea Valves Engineer
Location: Perth Office – with occasional travel to vendor, site, engineering or testing facilities as required.
 
Primary Objective
Support the Offshore Project by providing expert technical support for the development of FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) deliverables, with a primary focus on the Subsea Valves package.
This role will be instrumental in progressing the project toward a successful Final Investment Decision (FID) for the initial stage of the project.
In addition to the primary role, there may be an occasional need to contribute technical input / support for the company’s other projects on an ‘as-required’ basis

Primary Responsibilities

- Support the Offshore Project by providing expert technical support for the development of FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) deliverables, with a primary focus on the Subsea Valves package.
- This role will be instrumental in progressing the project toward a successful Final Investment Decision (FID) for the initial stage of project.
- In addition to the primary role, there may be an occasional need to contribute technical input / support for the company’s other projects on an ‘as-required’ basis
- Identify and document key technical risks across the Subsea Valves package.
- Ensure risks are captured in the project risk register and addressed in design reviews and management of change (MoC) processes.
- Drive technical assurance across vendors and internal interfaces
- Deliver technical input into the design, procurement, fabrication, qualification and testing deliverables for the valves package.
- Actively participate and support coordination of tender activities for the valves package in close collaboration with Company’s FEED
- contractor and in compliance with Company specifications and related codes and standards.
- Provide key input to technical bid evaluations, vendor clarifications, and technical assurance reviews in relation to the valves package.
- Act as Technical Authority (TA-2), for the subsea valves package.
- Participate in and support technical design reviews and decision-making processes across internal and Contractor stakeholder groups.
- Execute project engineering tasks, including planning and coordination between the FEED contractor and internal stakeholders with respect to successful integration and delivery of the valves package.
- Support contracting activities including preparation of technical exhibits and scopes of work for Execute phase activities.
- Tertiary qualification in Civil, Mechanical, Subsea Engineering or equivalent
- 7 years’ experience in subsea oil and gas related project delivery, including specific experience in design, procurement, fabrication and testing of large bore subsea valves.
- Strong understanding of API 17 series standards and recommended practices, including API SPEC 6DSS API SPEC 17D, IOGP S-708, IOGP S-561, IOGP S-562, ASME B16.34 and DNV-ST-F101.
- Experience managing interfaces between vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with systems and project requirements considered an advantage.
- Strong communication and leadership skills in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment.
