Position Summary
The Shipping Lead is responsible for preparing, packaging, and processing outbound shipments in accordance with customer, carrier, and company requirements. This hands-on position supports warehouse operations by safely operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment to stage, load, and move materials. The role ensures accurate documentation, proper labeling, and on-time delivery while maintaining compliance with all safety and quality standards. Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare, package, and stage outbound materials for domestic and international shipments.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, strapping machines, and other warehouse material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are properly secured and protected during transport.
  • Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation accurately.
  • Coordinate carrier pickups and ensure shipments are dispatched on time.
  • Communicate with warehouse, logistics, and production teams to resolve shipment issues or delays.
  • Follow all TSA, DOT, and OSHA compliance requirements and adhere to company safety policies.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, strapping machines, and other warehouse material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience.
  • Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, strapping machines, and other warehouse equipment required.
  • Experience with RF scan guns, shipping software, and carrier portals (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other MRP/ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and accurately.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Must be available for overtime or weekend work as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • Ability to climb on and off forklifts and perform visual safety checks of equipment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting shipping and production deadlines.
