About the Role The Technical Materials Planner plays a key role in ensuring the timely availability of materials to support Qatar Airways’ scheduled, non-scheduled, and cabin maintenance activities across the entire fleet. This position is responsible for planning, forecasting, and coordinating material requirements for maintenance programs, modifications, reconfigurations, and ad-hoc requests.
The role also focuses on optimizing inventory performance through business process improvement, data integrity management, KPI development, and system enhancement to achieve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate material requirements to support maintenance activities, modifications, and reconfigurations.
- Continuously review and enhance business processes and systems to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve materials planning performance.
- Provide data-driven insights and inventory-related metrics to support strategic decision-making.
- Define and maintain service level standards and performance targets.
- Conduct cost analysis, scenario modeling, and benchmarking to optimize inventory levels.
- Design and implement automated simulations to evaluate changes in inventory models and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with purchasing, repair, and contract management teams to deliver efficient material solutions.
- Participate in RFI/RFT/RFP processes to support procurement and supplier management strategies.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across ERP and inventory systems.
- Education: Minimum of High School, Vocational Qualification, or Diploma (or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in materials planning, preferably within an airline or MRO environment.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft technical publications and provisioning data.
- Effective communicator with the ability to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, coordination, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with MRO ERP systems (preferably TRAX).
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Proven ability to define and track inventory KPIs (service levels, inventory turns, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with MRO/Airline ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Query, VBA, data validation).
- Strong data extraction, cleansing, and visualization skills using Power BI or Tableau.
- Working knowledge of Oracle SQL or other database querying tools.
- Ability to build interactive dashboards, templates, and dynamic reports.
- Experience developing data models and simulation tools to drive operational efficiency.
