Job Title: Chemical Technician II
Location: Brawley, CA
Department: Operations / Laboratory
Reports To: Plant Management
Position Summary: The Chemical Technician II plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility by monitoring plant operations and conducting chemical analyses. This position involves collecting and preparing samples, operating and maintaining equipment, and collaborating with engineers and technicians to uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Position Summary: The Chemical Technician II plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility by monitoring plant operations and conducting chemical analyses. This position involves collecting and preparing samples, operating and maintaining equipment, and collaborating with engineers and technicians to uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily operations meetings to discuss safety, environmental compliance, quality, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain proficiency in operations and laboratory procedures, including training and qualification standards.
- Conduct chemical analyses in accordance with Laboratory Procedures, Quality Manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Collect, handle, and analyze samples; adjust operating equipment as needed.
- Monitor and control plant equipment and perform light maintenance activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
- Identify and initiate corrective actions for process, safety, or environmental deficiencies.
- Understand and utilize emergency equipment within the plant.
- Accurately read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and equipment data.
- Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and callouts; may be required to work rotating shifts.
- Cross-train and work across all areas of the facility.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Plant Management.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and rotating shifts.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Willingness to cross-train and adapt to various roles within the facility.
- Minimum of 2 years as a laboratory technician (1 year if in a plant environment) or 2 years as a plant operator.
- Chemical Lab Technician Certification, Plant Operator Technology Certificate, or equivalent military experience.
