Senior Cost Estimator – Industrial Projects (Netherlands) Location: Schiedam
Hours per week: 32–40
Start Date: ASAP (subject to pre-employment screening)
Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Estimator to support industrial investment projects from concept to execution. This role is based in Schiedam and sits within a national Cost Engineering department that provides support across multiple office locations in the Netherlands.

Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Estimator to support industrial investment projects from concept to execution. This role is based in Schiedam and sits within a national Cost Engineering department that provides support across multiple office locations in the Netherlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop independent and reliable cost estimates throughout various design stages.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to assess the cost impact of design choices.
- Prepare budget estimates, cost breakdowns, and second opinions to support investment decisions.
- Lead client-facing “pit stop sessions” to compare concept ideas based on cost and determine optimal solutions.
- Contribute to the internal knowledge base by collecting and analyzing cost data.
- Provide advisory reports that influence strategic project decisions.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a multidisciplinary project environment, with a strong background in CAPEX estimation.
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering & Management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
- Strong conceptual thinking and numerical skills, with attention to detail.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Willingness to support colleagues across different locations.
- Confident decision-maker with a collaborative mindset.
- Candidates must be available for the full duration of the assignment.
