📣 Now Hiring: DCO & Consenting Manager – Carbon Infrastructure Project Location: Teesside, UK
Employment Type: Permanent or Secondment
Industry: Low Carbon / Energy Infrastructure / Major Projects

We're supporting one of the UK’s most ambitious low carbon infrastructure programmes to deliver CO₂ transportation and storage systems across the North of England. As the project moves into its next phase of growth, a new leadership position has opened for a DCO & Consenting Manager to drive the planning and regulatory approvals for a nationally significant onshore pipeline development.

🔍 The Role: This position will be key to securing development consent for a new 88km onshore CO₂ pipeline – part of a broader expansion programme designed to support industrial decarbonisation efforts in the region. You'll lead the Development Consent Order (DCO) process, manage external advisors, and work closely with project partners, regulators and stakeholders across the full permitting chain (onshore and offshore).

You’ll also shape regulatory compliance systems across the wider programme – establishing internal processes, delivering strategy, and ensuring assurance in a first-of-a-kind (FOAK) regulatory environment.

💼 What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Lead the full DCO submission, examination and approval process for a major onshore CO₂ pipeline

  • Oversee and manage consenting contractors and budgets

  • Develop internal compliance and permitting capability across the JV

  • Engage with regulators, stakeholders, and industry groups to represent the project professionally

  • Integrate regulatory activity across onshore and offshore components

  • Build and maintain systems aligned with safety, compliance and long-term delivery goals

What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong experience in major infrastructure project delivery, ideally with a focus on regulatory or environmental compliance

  • Proven ability to lead complex consenting processes in the UK (DCO/NSIP highly desirable)

  • Experience working on first-of-a-kind or heavily regulated projects

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Degree in an environmental, technical or scientific discipline

  • Familiarity with CO₂ transport, CCUS or energy transition infrastructure is advantageous

🌍 Why Join?
  • Be part of a landmark UK decarbonisation initiative

  • Work alongside leading operators in energy and infrastructure

  • Contribute to a first-mover project with national and global impact
