NES Fircroft are currently recruiting an Environmental Approvals Advisor on behalf of our valued client, a Global Oil and Gas Operator.

The successful candidate will provide technical report writing to support the Environment approvals team lead.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times
  • Prepare Environmental approvals documentation in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts from Project teams, and third parties
  • Issue draft documents for review and work with various internal stakeholders to address comments and update the document in accordance with company requirements.
  • Advanced technical writing to author, review and/or manage Environmental impact assessment chapters and or technical reports
  • Demonstrate the Clients’ Values
Skills & Qualifications Required:
  • Experience in environmental discipline, preferably in the petroleum or renewables sector
  • Demonstrates a high level of technical skills applicable to the role, including experience in interpreting and applying legislative and other legal requirements and with a sound understanding of environmental impact assessment processes
  • Experience managing implementation of offshore and/or onshore petroleum activities to ensure compliance with environmental approval requirements and commitments, including field-based experience
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Experience in development of Environment Plans and/or environmental impact assessment documents, including a working knowledge of key regulatory requirements related to the OPGGS (Environment) Regulations and/or NT approvals
  • An ability to review documentation/engineering documents/design drawings for completeness and adequacy against regulatory requirements
  • Experience in implementing risk assessment processes, including in relation to new activities and management of change
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including oral and written communications, and a high level of computer literacy
  • Skilled at prioritization of tasks and problem solving to identify and implement effective solutions to regulatory and other Project challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to work within culturally diverse teams/organisations
