Job Description – Expeditor (Nuclear Program Management)
Position Title: Expeditor
Location: Cambridge, ON
Duration: 1 year contract
Rotation: Monday-Friday 8 hours per day
Reports To: Nuclear Program Manager
Position Summary
The Expeditor is responsible for Identifying on-time delivery issues of subcontracted manufacturing work and purchased components critical to nuclear programs. This role will proactively monitor supplier performance, identify delays, work with supply chain to resolve delays and drive schedule predictability to support production milestones and regulatory commitments. The Expeditor will serve as the critical link between procurement, suppliers, engineering, and production planning to ensure alignment and execution against delivery schedules. Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery Assurance: Track and manage delivery status of subcontracted manufacturing orders and purchased components, and identifying any delays and reasons for delays immediately.
  • Supplier Engagement: Drive communication and reporting with suppliers regarding risks, schedules, and delivery expectations.
  • Schedule Predictability: Monitor, analyze, and communicate supplier progress against milestones; work with supply chain to implement corrective action plans to mitigate risks to delivery.
  • Escalation & Problem Solving: Proactively identify bottlenecks, escalate critical issues, and drive resolution through supplier engagement and internal cross-functional coordination.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier status, changes, and commitments in ERP and supply chain systems. Provide regular updates and delivery forecasts to leadership.
  • Process Improvement: Partner with procurement, planning, and quality teams to strengthen expediting processes, improve supplier performance, and reduce lead time variability.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure supplier adherence to all regulatory, quality, and contractual requirements applicable to nuclear industry standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or expediting, ideally within defense, aerospace, or nuclear industries.
  • Strong understanding of subcontract manufacturing processes, vendor management, and material flow.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly regulated, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of nuclear quality and regulatory requirements (e.g., N229) is highly desirable.
