Our client, a low-carbon energy project developer, has a permanent opportunity for a Financial Analyst & Strategist to be remote-based in Texas or Nebraska.

Job Summary

This role supports Company’s financial strategy by identifying opportunities for growth and providing analytical insight to guide sound decision-making. The position requires a strong ability to build and run financial models, leverage data tools like Power BI, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Ideal candidates will bring experience in oil, gas, or chemical project environments, with 3+ years of progressive analytical roles. This is a highly visible role reporting directly into the C-suite in a lean, entrepreneurial setting.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed financial modeling, scenario planning, and investment analysis to support capital raising and strategic decisions.
  • Build dashboards and reports in Power BI to communicate financial insights and trends.
  • Partner with leadership on capital project evaluation (CAPEX) and operational performance analysis.
  • Provide clear, data-driven insights to guide profitability and growth.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on financial strategies to support development goals.
  • Prepare presentations and materials for investors, partners, and government stakeholders.
  • Monitor policies/regulations relevant to the industry and identify funding or partnership opportunities.
  • Contribute to financial controls and risk management without being responsible for day-to-day accounting.
  • Leverage established relationships within the energy, oil, fertilizer, and gas industries to support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand capital requirements and develop tailored financial strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze government regulations and policies impacting the company, advising on compliance and opportunities.
  • Present a professional image at all times to clients and vendors and maintain a positive reputation of the company.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience supporting financial analysis, strategy development, or related role within the energy/ oil/ gas sector.
  • Proven experience building and running complex financial models for capital projects (CAPEX) or for operational O&G and energy facilities is required.
  • Power BI expertise for data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; able to translate data into business strategy.
  • Exposure to startup or lean environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of grant processes and government funding opportunities for the energy and chemical manufacturing sector is a plus.
