HME Reliability Engineer
Location: WA Mine Site (FIFO from Perth)
Roster: 4 days on, 3 days off (Mon–Thu, 12-hour shifts)
Start Date: October 2025 - 26th February 2026 (Potential to redeploy across the assets team)
Rate: $90-$110/hr + Super
Engagement: Pty Ltd or PAYG

About the role
We’re seeking a Reliability Engineer to cover leave on an initial 4-month contract, supporting the reliability performance of a diverse Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) fleet, including Hitachi and CAT assets. This is a BAU-focused role, with potential redeployment into broader asset management functions depending on site needs.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team and will receive a full context briefing prior to commencement.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze reliability performance of HME fleets
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain equipment health strategies using RCM, FMEA, and condition monitoring
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and OEMs to improve equipment availability
  • Drive improvements in MTBF and reductions in MTTR
  • Optimize preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Prepare and present reliability reports and KPIs
  • Support reliability systems (e.g., SAP, AMT)
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legislative standards
 
Skills & experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry, focused on HME reliability
  • Strong knowledge of mobile equipment systems (engines, hydraulics, powertrain, electrical)
  • Proven RCFA and reliability improvement experience
  • Familiarity with RCM, FMEA, Weibull analysis, and condition monitoring
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar CMMS tools
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Safety-focused with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Reliability certifications (e.g., CMRP, CRL) are a plus
