NES Fircroft are partnering with a global resources client who are looking for a HYDROGEOLOGIST to join their PERTH based team on an ongoing contract

You will be responsible for working with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals to support and complete technical assessments, design and assurance for a wide range of projects. This will include completion of hydrogeological assessments (assessing groundwater abstraction, water supply and reinjection) and groundwater investigations.
You will also be required to prepare and review technical documentation to support license and permit applications, regulatory compliance, data management and analysis, and field work.

The Salary and Benefits:
- $65-$85 per hour plus Super depending upon experience
- Monday to Friday Perth Based with 1 day working from home ( occasional site travel)
- 12 month Contract - Opportunity for contract extension and possible permanency
- 1 day working from home per week
- Fantastic office facilities
The Role:
You will be responsible for working with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals to support and complete technical assessments, design and assurance for a wide range of projects. This will include completion of hydrogeological assessments (assessing groundwater abstraction, water supply and reinjection) and groundwater investigations.
You will also be required to prepare and review technical documentation to support license and permit applications, regulatory compliance, data management and analysis, and field work.
Duties Include:
- Conduct hydrogeological assessments and assist in conceptual borefield designs to source water.
- Collection, analysis and management of groundwater data (such as groundwater investigation field data including test pumping data, water quantity and quality information)
- Planning and managing site investigations for the collection of hydrogeological data.
- Risk assessment of water management, environmental impacts and related natural hazards
- Provide technical support to a diverse team of professionals across multiple parts of the value chain
- Prepare project scopes, technical specifications, and technical documents, summarizing recommendations and work performed, concisely and to a high standard.
The Requirements:
- BSc in Geology or Environmental Science/ MSc or postgraduate diploma in Hydrogeology will be viewed favourably
- Previous experience in hydrogeology and/or water resource management.
- Proficiency using GIS is essential (experience with industry standard hydrogeological modelling software, such as Modflow, Leapfrog, may be considered beneficial).
- Strong data management and data manipulation skills.
- Knowledge of Australian (WA) water use licensing/permitting processes and approvals is desirable.
