Infrastructure Service Manager – 12 Months Initial Contract – Iraq

28 x 28 rotation (28 days on site in Iraq, 28 days holiday)

ESSENTIAL:-  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience. Certifications in ITIL, PMP, or equivalent are highly regarded. Ten years of experience for Infrastructure Services Management within an Oil & Gas Environment. Proven leadership and team management skills. Strong financial and budget management experience. Excellent vendor and stakeholder management capabilities. Adept at strategic planning, resource allocation, and project management. Knowledge of current trends and developments in IT infrastructure technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Azure, Data Centres, Hyperconverge, Cisco Network Devices, Field-wide Cambium Microwave Network, 45 Next Generation Firewalls, Lenel Access Control Systems, CCTV Systems, X-Ray Screening Equipment. Voice, Data, Collaboration services.

The Infrastructure Services Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the Digital Oil Field Network, an essential infrastructure that supports more than 500 wells, along with the extensive Electronic Security Systems. The Infrastructure Services Manager holds a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of Voice, Data, and Collaboration services to an extensive user base of over 6500 individuals, distributed across more than 80 locations.
Key responsibilities in this role involve the management and strategic development of a comprehensive range of infrastructure components, including:
  • Azure-based cloud infrastructure
  • Seven on-premise data centres,
  • Hyperconverged infrastructure hosting more than 300 servers,
  • Field-wide Cambium Microwave Network,
  • 1,400 Cisco networking devices,
  • 45 Next Generation Firewalls,
  • Lenel Access Control Systems,
  • CCTV Systems,
  • X-Ray Screening Equipment.
The individual in this role must possess strong leadership qualities, capable of guiding a diverse team and managing a multifaceted technology landscape. Multi-tasking skills are essential, as the role demands the ability to juggle various projects and operational responsibilities concurrently. A deep understanding of IT Infrastructure and Services is required to manage the complex ecosystem effectively. Moreover, the role requires strategic vision to align IT&C services with the broader organizational goals, ensuring that the infrastructure is not only robust today but also scalable for the challenges of tomorrow.
The Infrastructure Services Manager is not just a technical role; it is a position of influence and strategy, requiring a balance of technical acumen, leadership, and foresight to ensure that IT&C services are delivered effectively, securely, and efficiently, driving the success of the organization's expansive operations

#Infrastructure Services Manager Key Accountabilities    
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, build, and manage a diverse team of local, expatriate, and third-party IT&C professionals. Responsibilities include recruitment, professional development, coaching, effective delegation, and supervision of daily activities. Set clear weekly priorities for the team to ensure strategic alignment and operational efficiency.
  • Service Delivery Management: Effectively manage the IT&C Infrastructure to provide robust, resilient, cost-effective, and secure services to the business in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Incident and Crisis Management: Support service recovery from incidents and crises, including full problem management and Root Cause Analysis to mitigate and prevent repeat incidents.
  • Culture of Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Develop a strong team-based culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement. Monitor performance and productivity levels within the department to pursue service excellence.
  • Strategic Planning and Budget Management: Develop the annual "Work Program & Budget" for the IT&C Infrastructure, complete with business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for proposed spending and initiatives. Track monthly spending and prepare detailed financial reports.
  • Contract Management: Manage contracts by defining scope of work, technical specifications, and evaluation criteria. Conduct technical evaluations, respond to technical clarifications, and review contract documents to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Vendor and Service Provider Management: Proactively manage external service providers, ensuring accountability and high standards of service delivery within the agreed budget and SLAs.
  • Project Involvement and Strategic Alignment: Engage proactively in the initiation and planning phases of system changes to maintain architectural integrity. Ensure that changes are aligned with strategic plans and that solutions are supportable and effectively implemented.
