This is an excellent opportunity to join our clients Buying Team working for a leading Oil & Gas Operator. You’ll receive full training and support to develop your career in supply chain and procurement.

As a Junior Buyer, you’ll be part of the wider Supply Chain team, delivering an effective and economic service to our clients customers, supporting both offshore installations and our onshore gas terminals at Bacton and Dimlington.

This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years’ experience in a similar environment looking to further their development, or for an entry-level candidate eager to start a career in buying and supply chain.

We’re looking for someone who is flexible, detail-focused, and proactive in finding solutions to operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Buying team in sourcing goods and materials, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery.

  • Provide customer-focused purchasing support for materials and services across our assets, including Wytch Farm.

  • Benchmark and negotiate goods, services, rental, and labour with existing and new vendors, ensuring compliance with site requirements and QSHE policies.

  • Accurately prepare and issue purchase orders, including correct cost allocation.

  • Maintain strong commercial awareness, including understanding of terms and conditions.

  • Ensure materials and services are delivered in line with asset plans and budgets.

  • Provide reports to assist with accruals and project spend monitoring.

  • Issue new suppliers with appropriate service/purchase order terms and conditions.

  • Ensure certification and documentation are provided as part of deliveries.

  • Assist with supplier audits to ensure HSE compliance.

  • Contribute to maintaining supplier records in SAP.

  • Support the team in extracting data from SAP for procurement reporting.

  • Develop proficient SAP skills to enhance future buying activities.

Skills & Experience
  • 1–2 years’ experience as a Buyer or in an administrative role within supply chain/purchasing (advantageous, but not essential).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).

  • Working knowledge of SAP MM (desirable, not essential).

As the role is based out of Norwich Monday to Friday, you must reside within a daily commutable distance to be considered.
