Position Overview:
Lab Specialist III will support crude oil testing and quality control operations in the local area. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing routine maintenance and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) on local instrumentation.
- Managing laboratory data and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Providing technical support and training to process technicians on crude oil testing procedures.
- Conducting laboratory analyses, primarily focused on crude oil, for custody transfer and product quality assurance.
- Promptly reporting any issues, discrepancies, or incidents to supervisors or internal stakeholders.
- Actively participating in safety programs and meetings.
- Upholding high standards of integrity in all professional interactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
OR- 5+ years of hands-on industry experience in crude oil testing, including techniques such as ICP metals analysis and high-temperature simulated distillation.
- Proficiency in Wet Chemistry and familiarity with API, ASTM, and UOP testing methods.
- Strong background in SQC within a lab setting, including charting and issue identification.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), preferably Labworks.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong decision-making abilities and a proactive work ethic.
- Self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning and skill development through formal and on-the-job training.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time (typically no overnight travel).
