NES Fircroft is seeking candidates for an immediate job opportunity with one of the leading global chemical manufacturers as they have an immediate need for a Process Controls Specialist. This would initially begin as a 6-12 month contract role but with high probability to develop into a longer-term position. This position would have day-to-day maintenance-based control system troubleshooting interfacing with the plant’s internal instrument technicians in addition to future build configurations and system modifications.

Responsibilities
- The Process Controls Specialist will provide support to I&E maintenance and project engineers as a subject matter advisor in the areas of instrument and logic solver modification, instrument and hardware installation, and adherence to RAGAGEP codes and ETC standards as they apply to automated systems.
- This position will actively engage with the operations team to meet their objectives towards a safe, reliable, and efficient Nitrogen production and distribution facility. The Process Controls Specialist will assist Operations with in-depth and timely analysis of process events and trends leading to timely and opportune enhancements.
- You’ll lead the charge towards a completion of complex single variable problems utilizing process data analysis, root cause analysis, and other investigation tactics within safety and basic process control systems.
- The Process Controls Specialist is responsible for the design and implementation of small to medium sized I&E related capital projects. These projects involve providing direction to internal and external project team members.
- You will lead management of change (MOC) processes, conduct timely investigations and root-cause analyses (RCA’s), manage work tasks through task management applications (EtQ), generate workflows through EAM, advise TAR work scope, and work collectively with the Process Engineering staff to provide concept-to-resolution risk mitigation through compliance and project hazard analysis.
- You’ll be available by cell phone to respond to plant emergencies (or other needs) and be flexible to work abnormal hours during plant outage or turnaround (TAR) periods.
Job Qualifications
- Must have at least 5+ years of Process Controls or other equivalent experience.
- Must have strong DCS and system programming experience.
- Must have previous experience working with Foxboro I/A, Foxview HMI or Honeywell.
- Previous field experience in an industrial setting working with instrumentation, controls, or automation would be a big plus.
- Candidates local to the Lima, OH region are strongly preferred.
