Contract period: 03.11.2025 - 31.12.2026
Location: Stord
Main tasks:
- Conduct inspections of insulation materials and installations (thermal, acoustic, fireproofing, etc.) to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
- Perform inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) to verify that all quality requirements are met at each stage of the process.
- Monitor and verify insulation work during various stages of construction, including pre-installation, in-process, and final inspections.
- Review and verify material certifications, batch numbers, and storage conditions.
- Ensure proper surface preparation and environmental conditions prior to insulation application.
- Identify and report non-conformances, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including checklists, reports, and photographic documentation.
- Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and other QC personnel to resolve quality issues.
- Participate in quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote safe work practices during inspections.
- The Stord yard will be primary work location, however occasional travels to other Sites might be required. Offshore travel is also a requirement for this position.
Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or degree in engineering, construction, or a related field.
- FROSIO certification in insulation or surface treatment is highly desirable.
- Certification in quality inspection (e.g., NACE, ISO 9001, or equivalent) is preferred
- Theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of general construction work and activities.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in insulation inspection within the construction or oil & gas industry.
- Familiarity with insulation types (e.g., mineral wool, calcium silicate, foam glass) and application methods.
- Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, API, project-specific specifications).
- A requirement for the position is fluent English, both written and verbal communication
- Organised and independent, with good collaboration skills.
- Proactive, service minded, solution oriented and have a non-confrontational manner with co-workers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong work ethics.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
