Project Controls Analyst 
Job Purpose & Responsibilities
  • Functioning as the Project Controls Analyst to support capital projects including project setup, cost tracking, work breakdown structure, cost analysis reporting, forecasting, earned value analysis, contingency management and change management
  • Ability to work independently to pull together budget, forecast, and other estimating information from all project team members
  • Preparing and analyzing project cost reports and communicate this information with project team and upper management
  • Reviewing project estimates
  • Setting up, maintaining, and tracking new projects
  • Analyzing and interpreting data provided by Project Managers and work with subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely submittal of cost reports and other progress reporting
  • Establishing initial project budgets, cash flows and update forecast for all design, procurement and construction activities – ability to understand, validate and challenge progress in each project phase; the ideal candidate will have basic knowledge in all project phases: from conceptual thru design, construction and closeout
  • Interfacing and collaborating with key project team members: Schedule, Project Management, Accounting, Procurement, Construction Management and Field Project Controls
  • Identifying potential cost risks early allowing project team decisions and workarounds
  • Preparing and updating change log and facilitate change management process with appropriate contingency drawdown plan
  • Preparing performance variance analysis to evaluate the actual cost vs. budget
  • Developing staffing plans, analyze labor and productivity
  • Collect contractor daily tickets to develop daily spend and identify cost to date on all projects
  • Ensuring timely and accurate cost reporting
  • Must be highly organized, motivated and an analytical thinker
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Education Required:
The fully qualified candidate will have:
  • Working knowledge of project controls best practices, methodologies and techniques
  • Familiarity with the operation of construction projects
  • Ability to work as part of a team across organizational lines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • A minimum of five years of comparable work history. Pipeline or other energy industry experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in a business related field.
