Position Overview A Quantity Surveyor is required to join the Networks Contracting Procurement Team, responsible for procuring contractors and services to support the delivery of major capital works. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders across engineering and project teams to ensure best value in terms of cost, quality, and service, while maintaining compliance with procurement regulations and high standards in ethics, health, safety, environment, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end tender processes for EPC, civil, and electrical contracting in line with procurement procedures and statutory regulations.
- Collaborate with framework managers to define requirements and develop procurement strategies.
- Assist in the development of annual procurement plans, category plans, and sourcing strategies.
- Provide expert advice and support on procurement and market trends.
- Ensure compliance with procurement legislation and internal procedures.
- Work with legal and insurance teams on contract development and bonding requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Manage mini-tenders, full tenders, and framework agreements.
- Oversee procurement aspects of existing contracts.
- Provide guidance on complex procurement issues.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in procurement or contract/commercial management of construction projects.
- Strong commercial acumen and interpersonal skills.
- Experience drafting tender documents and contracts for major civil, building, or utility projects.
- Knowledge of EU and Irish procurement legislation.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective time management and teamwork skills.
- Experience with public procurement or utilities directives.
- Familiarity with SAP and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of FIDIC construction contracts.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using the eTenders portal.
- ASCSI/MRICS qualification and legal registration under the Building Control Act 2007.
- Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Full Irish/EU driver’s licence and access to a car.
- Valid Safe Pass.
- Compliance with all health and safety regulations at work locations.
- Full PPE required, including arc-resistant gear where applicable.
- Contractors must provide their own safety boots, gloves, and eye protection.
- Safe Pass and manual handling training must be up to date.
- Must have access to a personal phone, laptop/PC, and internet for professional engagement.
- Travel and accommodation expenses for required office attendance are not reimbursed.
- Business travel expenses outside normal work location may be reimbursed with prior approval.
