RESOURCE DEFINITION GEOLOGIST
 
NES Fircroft are partnering with a global resources client who are looking for a RESOURCE DEFINITION GEOLOGIST to join the team. This is initially a 6 month contract with possible extension

The Role:
 
Reporting to the Senior Geologist, you will provide quality geological logging data and sample QA/QC whilst supervising the daily RC drilling activities associated with grade control and near mine exploration drill programs
 
The Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science (Geology)
  • Class C manual WA driver’s license.
  • Current first aid and CPR
  • 4WD certificate.
  • Proficiency using - Coreplan/ Acquire, Vulcan/ Leapfrog and ARC map / ARC Pro/ MapInfo
 
Duties will include:
  • In field supervision of the daily drilling activities of designated RC drill rigs.
  • Provide accurate logging and geological data for down hole drilling, with daily entry into the geological database.
  • Geological (including stratigraphical and chemical) validation and interpretation of all holes drilled and logged.
  • Providing regular maps and drill plans for the drill team, down hole geophysics and collar surveyors.
  • Create and ensure daily updates of cross sections to assist in efficient targeted planned drill depths.
  • Assist with geological, structural and mineralisation mapping.
