We are working with our Oil and Gas client, recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join them on an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extension.
About the role:
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements.
  • Leading daily accounting processes, including AP review and posting.
  • Ensuring accounting entries meet all applicable accounting standards and internal reporting standards.
  • Month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with the preparation of budget statements, forecasts, long-term forecasting and annual reports.
  • Assisting with the ongoing development of comprehensive financial models and forecasting systems for levy collections and operating and capital expenditure.
  • Overseeing payroll and treasury functions, non-levy and general invoicing, preparation of Business Activity Statements and Fringe Benefit Returns by the Accountant.
  • Assisting in the management and coordination of internal and external audit functions.
  • Assist business in development of business cases, in particular in the areas of commercial justification and budget compliance.
  • Preparing financial data for annual report and responses to parliamentary questions as required.
  • Maintaining financial system, internal controls and financial framework to enable best practice as a Commonwealth Corporate Entity.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal financial controls and financial policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and legislation related to reporting requirements.
Experience Required:
  • CA/ACCA/CPA Qualification
  • Highly developed skills in using Microsoft Excel to prepare and present financial information and use of other relevant Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of financial services, preparation of budgets and forecasts and preparation of management and financial reports
