NES Fircroft are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor for our client who are the largest turnkey provider of nuclear engineering, manufacturing, and services in the UK.

The purpose of this role is to represent our business as a Site Supervisor reporting to the Construction/ Site Manager. Where appointed as a Site Supervisor you are accountable and responsible for supervising the site installation and construction of a project. Alternatively, the post holder will be responsible for supervising a section of works on a project reporting to the Construction Manager. A key function of the Site Supervisor is the site set-up including site records, receiving plant and materials, implementing Health and Safety Regulations. Along with the Construction Manager you will be the ANL point of contact onsite for the client when required and to ensure that all ANL staff maintain the Company’s reputation for quality and effectiveness. • Responsible to the Site Manager for, the Health and Safety of the ANL site team; compliance of the team to ANL BMS & specific RAMS; compliance of the team with Client systems, processes and procedures and other mandatory local practices; delivering daily pre works Tool Box Talks to the team, and maintaining weekly project reports including non-conformance reporting • Capable of leading a multi-disciplinary team of installation, commissioning and test engineers to deliver the appropriate solutions and documentation deliverables to budget, quality and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
• Accurate and timely reporting of project performance (min. weekly), immediate escalation of any safety / security breaches and NCR’s to the ANL site manager or project manager.
• Responsible for safety of site personnel; ensuring that personnel comply with established safety policies and procedures and are responsible for providing a safe working environment.
• Day to day management & monitoring of site works and contractor performance.
• Manage and review the quality of installation to meet with specifications and drawings.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports to cover site activities.
• Maximizing construction productivity and maintaining schedule.
• Reviewing of Risk Assessments & Method Statements.
• Provide inputs on constructability assessments and construction planning.
• Ensure delivery compliance within site licence conditions.
• Identify and manage site risk through mitigation strategies.
• Management and co-ordination of logistics to enable on time delivery of the works.
• Generate QA inspections reports and records.

Essential role related knowledge, technical skills, qualifications and experience:
Health and Safety:
• Manage Health and Safety onsite including assisting with the preparation of RAMS and conducting regular site safety checks.
• Demonstrable Leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering delivery teams, installation and commissioning resource and associated sub contract labour interfaces
• Ensure site inductions are adequate and that your team has read, understood and signed any appropriate documentation such as risk assessments.
• Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and proactively contribute in maintaining a safe and clean work environment including welfare facilities.
Put into practice your duties imposed by the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and:
• Supervise your work team to ensure their and your safety.
• Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Security standards as applied to site activities
• Safe deployment of Lifting Equipment / Cranes / specialised mechanical handling techniques
• Working knowledge of safe systems of work; recognition of specialist site activities such as confined spaces, working with asbestos, radiation / contamination working practices.
• Through working knowledge, application and communication of risk assessments.
• Ensure that work equipment is in good condition, inspected and used correctly.
• Ensure correct PPE is provided, correctly worn/used and replaced when defective.
• Report anything that you feel is unsafe and help to ensure an effective two-way consultation and communication on matters of health and safety.
• Understand the accident reporting procedure and how to initiate a report. Report accidents and near misses and co-operate with investigations.
• Ensure first-aid kits are available, maintained and your work team understand where to obtain first-aid treatment.
• Recognise and report on situations where you think that there is a need for health surveillance including monitoring people on prescription drugs.
• Ensure hearing protection is worn as appropriate.
• Explain vibration exposure monitoring to at-risk workers as appropriate.
• Understand the contents of hazard data sheets and COSHH assessments prior to work and explain control measures to the work team.
• Maintain a means of preventing the accumulation of flammable waste material and check that additional fire risks are reported.
• Explain the official Health & Safety Law poster or a copy of the official leaflet or card to your work team.

• CSCS Card holder Gold Card
• Self-motivated and able to motivate others
• Ability to read project programmes
• Security cleared or willing to be vetted

• Minimum 5 years’ experience of sites works

• Basic understanding of NEC suit of contracts
