We are currently recruiting a SMP Inspector (nightshift) on a contract until 30/11/2026 for our Global Oil & Gas client in Karratha, WA where you will be responsible for ensuring that all structural factors and infrastructure meet the required standards and project requirements.
This role involves inspections, detailed reporting, and collaboration with engineers, construction manager, and other stakeholders to ensure safety and compliance. For deployed activity and day-to-day direction functional reporting to the Quality Lead at the Karratha Site.

We are currently recruiting a SMP Inspector (nightshift) on a contract until 30/11/2026 for our Global Oil & Gas client in Karratha, WA where you will be responsible for ensuring that all structural factors and infrastructure meet the required standards and project requirements.
This role involves inspections, detailed reporting, and collaboration with engineers, construction manager, and other stakeholders to ensure safety and compliance. For deployed activity and day-to-day direction functional reporting to the Quality Lead at the Karratha Site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and standards.
- Verify that procedures, qualifications, and processes meet the required standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports and records.
- Document and report any discrepancies, defects, or deviations from standards.
- Ensure that all inspection records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Monitor and enforce quality control procedures and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other inspectors and stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
- Participate in quality audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant welding codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., AS, ASME, AWS, ISO).
- Promote HSSE and Quality Culture
- Trade level or Higher Qualification in related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in related Quality Discipline inspection (Structural Steel, Mechanical rotating, static and Piping including pressure equipment / pressure vessels)
- Ability to promote collaborative relationships is essential
- Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or ACIP (Desired not essential if CSWIP is present).
- CSWIP 3.1 (Level 2) or CSWIP 3.2 (Level 3) Welding Inspector or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Weld Australia inspector Grade 2 (essential)
- API 570 Piping Inspector (Desired not essential if CSWIP is present)
- Certificate lll Engineering- Mechanical (Desired not essential if CSWIP is present)
- Certificate lV Engineering-Mechanical (Desired not essential if CSWIP is present)
