Structural Mechanical & Piping (SMP) Supervisor
12 month initial contract | FIFO on a 15/13 or 10/4 roster | Client side role | Daily rate $1311/day inc super

We are seeking an experienced SMP Supervisor to oversee brownfield and greenfield construction projects within the oil and gas sector. This role will suit someone with a strong trade background, proven supervisory experience, and a commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise construction crews to deliver project scopes in line with daily work plans and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, ensuring scope clarity, performance, and compliance with site rules and safety standards.
  • Monitor construction schedules and proactively drive progress to meet project milestones.
  • Submit accurate daily construction reports on progress, issues, and upcoming activities.
  • Liaise with operations, engineering, and project management teams to resolve field-level issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting, including interpretation of drawings and specifications.
  • Review engineering work packs and drawings, providing constructability feedback and risk identification.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance, land access protocols, cultural heritage, and environmental requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with third-party service providers including logistics, materials handling, and commissioning teams.
  • Capture and report benchmarking and KPI data, including productivity metrics and safety observations.
  • Conduct daily pre-starts, toolbox talks, and field audits to maintain engagement and compliance.

  • Champion a proactive safety culture by demonstrating exemplary behaviours.
  • Ensure safe execution of all activities, maintaining compliance with HSE standards.
  • Actively participate in safety training and initiatives to support Goal Zero.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in construction/project environments, ideally within oil and gas.
  • Relevant trade qualification with a strong technical foundation.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage contractor resources safely and effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills in field environments.
  • Practical knowledge of safety management systems and HSSE principles.
  • Experience managing contractors in line with service contracts and performance standards.
Additional Information
  • FIFO roster options: 15/13 or 10/4.
  • Ability to undertake domestic travel as required.
