Subsea inspection Engineer

Location : Paris, France

The Job Holder shall:
  • Execution of subsea inspection engineering activities in the frame of Subsea MIE
  • Implementation of technical solutions for inspection of Subsea MIE
  • Ensuring integrity and reliability of subsea assets, including pipeline, risers, FLET/ILT and associated subsea infrastructure
  • Develop and implement inspection strategies for subsea assets in line with project and regulatory requirements
  • Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding HSEQ and to implement HSEQ rules and requirements within his area of responsibility.
MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION ENGINEERING (MIE) ACTIVITIES:
  • Recovery data from SURF and SPS Contractors, Vendors, Manufacturers and Suppliers
  • Define inspection engineering scope of work and techniques based on asset criticality, failure modes, and operational risk.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) and CMIMS tools framework tailored to greenfield subsea infrastructure.
  • Build templates and procedures for global inspection. Issue the Inspection manuals
  • Prepare detailed inspection work packs, procedures, and risk assessments for ROV/AUV-based inspections
  • Analyse inspection data (video, sonar, CP readings, NDT results) and generate comprehensive reports
  • Perform inspectability review based on the WSE
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., DNV, API, ISO) and client specifications
  • Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and technical reviews related to subsea inspection scopes
  • Interface with COMPANY HQ and regulatory bodies, classification societies, and client stakeholders to ensure compliance
  • Integrate deliverables into affiliate CMIMS and handover to operations
  • Lead performance standard deliverables for SPS & SURF
  • Management of Subsea spare parts into SAP CMMS
  • Development of Subsea Asset Break down structure linked with BOM
INSPECTION EXECUTION & FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITIES:
  • Support anomaly management, defect assessment, and repair recommendations
  • Control FOSC analysis of inspection reports results, to secure re-assessments and corrective actions issuance.
  • Coordinate and analyse Subsea inspection performance by DT.
  • Coordinate DT/EPT and DT/Subsea entities for corrective actions and subsea inspection.
  • Ensure assistance to Sites operations as required for performance, assessment or resolution of integrity issues.
  • Establish and implement plans for subsea equipment. Initiate the derogation process if needed.
  • Support the Head of FOSC Coordination in the assessment, action plan definition & follow-up of all integrity threats related to static equipment & Floating Units, providing input as well for key integrity meetings (AIMB & TIRT).
  • Keep up to date an inspection asset register of DB20 for Subsea and ensure update of Plant asset register managed by FOSC (this register being the basis to develop and manage all inspection activities).
PIPELINE INTEGRITY:
  • Act as Pipeline Integrity Lead Engineer (PILE) for the affiliate as required by Company Rule.
  • Ensuring implementation of pipeline integrity management policy, plan, and procedures.
  • Manage and supervise pipeline intelligent pigging contract and its implementation.
  • Manage implementation of Pipeline Risk Based Inspection activities.
  • Support Emergency Pipeline Repair activities.
MANAGEMENT:
  • Ensure contract management of FOSC inspection activities for the plant equipment and manage the subsea inspection activities
  • Ensure performance of technical audit of related subjects to complement FOSC continuous supervision
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation in organisation and costs
  • Guarantee reliable and periodic reporting activities and provide monthly reporting of inspection activities through defines KPIs
  • Promote innovation and application of new technologies in inspection area.
OBJECTIVES:
  • In the context of teamwork and in the field of operations
  • Promote the highest HSEQ standards during Subsea operations and OLTI philosophy
  • Ensure the highest possible availability of Subsea facilities in order to maximise production
  • Share and provide company reliability analysis, optimisation and availability of equipment in line with the production objectives
  • Ensure the execution of Subsea inspection engineering in line with project schedule
  • Ensure Block 20 subsea inspection strategies are aligned with TEPA, HQ and international rules and standards
  • Participate and update REX and recommendations for suture contract as Block 20 strategy
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
  • Professional experience (years): 06/10 in oil & gas industry and major deep offshore projects / fields. Experience in subsea MIE
  • Experience in similar positions (years): min 3 years with lead duties
  • Level / diploma: engineer, or equivalent
  • Reliability, autonomy, analytical, organisational capacity
  • Language: French or English
  • Good knowledge of GS or CR group
  • Good knowledge of SECE management and performance standard deliverables
