Subsea Technical Manager
The job holder will be responsible, within the Subsea Package of the project, for all the technical activities related to the CPI package.
As such, the job holder is responsible for:
• The review and the final acceptance of the technical documentation issued by the CPI contractors
• The development and the update of the internal documentation related to this equipment (BoD, Project Specifications, Technical notes, etc.)
• The management of engineering interfaces with other concerned disciplines or packages (e.g. Installation, Operations, Onshore, etc.)
• The validation of mechanical completion, tests and qualification status of the CPI equipment
• The acceptance of the technical handover
• The supervision and the coordination of the preservation, storage and maintenance activities
• Anticipation and identification of the project technical risks
• Anticipation and definition of technical change orders
The job holder shall remain, during the construction / installation / commissioning phases, the correspondent for any occurring problem related to CPI equipment, any advice to be given, or any technical deviation request to be analyzed and answered.
The job holder shall liaise permanently with package leads and technical engineers to ensure adequacy and consistency of the technical solutions. The job holder shall coordinate with the fabrication teams onsite to ensure that all engineering, procurement, construction and testing activities performed by CPI contractors are completed in a timely manner and are to the required level of completion for their final delivery. The job holder participates in the achievement of the CPI team objectives in terms of H3SE, quality, costs and schedule. The job holder reports to the Subsea Package Manager and shall demonstrate to be able to act as his deputy during his absence.
Accountabilities:
To be aware of related-discipline Company Rules and Specifications (CR’s/GS’s), international norms and standards, and capable of extracting all the applicable requirements for the Project
To define, develop and update, as necessary, the technical documentation related to the CPI scope.
To supervise and control the detailed engineering by timely reviewing / validating the documentation issued by CPI Contractor(s) (technical documentation / queries / derogation requests...), in compliance with Project specifications and procedures, International norms and standards, with the objective to ensure respect of schedule, costs, quality and safety.
To raise consequently necessary comments and highlight unsafe design, deviations, unacceptable / unjustified design choices, potential quality or constructability issues.
To supervise and control Preservation, Storage and Maintenance activities related to CPI equipment and coordinate TotalEnergies local inspection teams.
To be responsible of the technical acceptance of the handover documentation.
To participate in the in the preparation of the different installation campaigns in Mozambique (onshore and offshore).
Qualifications/Experience required:
Minimum 10 years in the execution phase of subsea projects and minimum 5 years in a technical coordination role.
Ability to multi-task and work as part of small and flexible team, adopting a pragmatic approach to problem solving situations.
Fluid communicator capable to represent the project in front of third parties and other stakeholders in a professional and organized manner.
Fluent in English. French and Portuguese as a bonus.
