Technical Director – Environmental Planning & Assessments

We are now working with a global professional services consultancy that provide strategic, technical, and commercial advice to clients across a wide range of sectors including energy, infrastructure, environment, urban development, and resources.

Job Description: 

This position will be responsible for overseeing complex, multidisciplinary projects, providing expert guidance and ensuring high technical standards. You will be involved in strategic project delivery, client relationship management, and team leadership. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced practitioner with broad expertise across multiple sectors and regions.  Our client is looking to add to either the Sydney or Newcastle office, but will also accommodate a remote opportunity for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for demonstrating leadership qualities within Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ)
  • Maintain and develop, as well as leading a high performing culture that reflects the companies’ aspirations to be the industries best
  • Plays a key role in securing commercially successful bids while ensuring risks are effectively managed
  • Capitalise and engage on existing relationships and introduce new services when you necessary
  • Applies specialist and detailed technical expertise, ensuring compliance with the organisations systems and processes
  • Oversee and lead commercial negotiations of major projects ensuring best outcomes for the business
  • Build upon existing company culture by maintaining strong relationships with internal departments.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant field
  • Certified with a professional accreditation where relevant (BAM)
  • Experience of being active in industry conferences/networking events
  • Previous experience of leading commercial negotiations and leading teams throughout major project assessments
  • High-level understanding and experience throughout multiple sectors and/or geographies.
