Job Title: Turnaround Cost Controller
Location: Calgary, AB with required site travel (full-time on-site during turnaround execution; additional site visits every 1–2 months)
Start Date: Early November
About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Turnaround Cost Controller to support an upcoming turnaround (TA) project. While titled as a cost control position, this role is heavily accounting-focused and requires strong forecasting, invoicing, and financial tracking capabilities.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in tracking, analysing, and forecasting project costs, particularly during an active turnaround event. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong accounting background, prior turnaround experience, and the ability to manage high volumes of transactional and catch-up work.

Key Responsibilities
- Forecasting: Accurately forecast spend-to-completion throughout the turnaround lifecycle. This is the most important responsibility of the role.
- Cost Tracking: Monitor and control project costs; reconcile actuals vs. forecasts.
- Invoice Processing: Review and process vendor invoices; validate against contracts and field tickets (LEMs).
- LEMs Processing: Ensure timely and accurate logging and approval of Labor, Equipment, and Materials (LEMs).
- Financial Reporting: Support regular cost reporting and project performance updates.
- Catch-up Work: Assist in aligning current and historical spend with forecasts and budgets.
- Site Travel: Required to be on-site full-time during peak turnaround months and travel to site every 1–2 months outside that period.
- Proven experience in a cost control or accounting role within an industrial or turnaround environment.
- Strong understanding of forecasting, invoicing, and financial tracking.
- Prior Turnaround (TA) experience is required.
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with financial systems or project controls tools.
- Ability to manage time-sensitive, high-volume workloads independently.
- Education in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Comfortable with both strategic and transactional work.
- Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable to shifting priorities.
- Able to start in early November.
