Turnaround E&I Planner

The NES Fircroft Chicago office is seeking candidates immediately to join a global chemicals organization at their plant in Lima, OH as they are seeking a E&I Planner. This individual would be employed on a contract basis and be tasked with planning E&I activities for their upcoming turnaround.

Job Details
Location: Lima, IL
Hours: M-F—40-50 hours per week. Additional OT may be required.
Duration: 9-12 months
Pay: $65-$75/hr.—Per diem will be offered to non-local candidates.  

Job Responsibilities

• Develop detailed work packages for all E&I jobs, including labor, materials, tools, and safety requirements.
• Include technical documentation such as P&IDs, loop sheets, vendor manuals, spec sheets, and isolation plans.
• Create task lists for recurring jobs and maintain a job plan library for future use.

• Conduct field walkdowns to verify job scope, identify permitting and isolation needs, and ensure materials are onsite before execution.

• Collaborate with internal departments (Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Safety) and external vendors.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and services.

• Estimate labor and materials for tasks such as:
• Installing or repairing DCS, PLC, HMI components
• Electrical circuits, motors, MCC starters, VFDs
• Calibration and installation of instrumentation and control valves
• Electrical distribution systems and communication networks

• Support the development of risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Identify special safety requirements like confined space entry, fall protection, and PPE.

• Update Bill of Materials (BOM) in the CMMS.
• Manage inventory levels, submit requisitions, and track order statuses.

• Provide on-the-ground support during turnaround events, supervising contractors and ensuring adherence to plans.
• Monitor job progress and adjust plans as needed to stay on schedule and within budget.

Job Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of dedicated experience around electrical and instrumentation planning work.
• Must have previous downstream or petrochemical experience supporting turnaround planning.
• Must have extensive experience with preparing work packages, doing field walks, and preparing cost estimates around manpower.  
• Previous scheduling experience would be a big plus.
• Candidates local to the Lima, OH region are a big plus.
