Following labour regulation changes in Azerbaijan in 2014, the client realised that they did not have the relevant expertise to manage an international workforce in-country, so NES Fircroft was appointed as the client’s sole management partner for their directly engaged fixed term contract employees.
The Client's Challenge
The convoluted scope posed many compliance concerns and our client needed the support of a recruitment partner who could navigate and overcome the complexities.
The challenge was two-fold:
- The client faced a tight timeframe in which to implement the project (including the implementation of an online timesheet management system)
- The logistics regarding employing an international workforce and the need to transition over 200 contractors - some of whom were located offshore - posed significant and complicated legislation to navigate.

- Implemented an online timesheet and expenses portal (Fieldglass)
- Created tailored contractor briefings and training guides
- Managed a multi-currency billing process which adheres to local guidelines
- Facilitated a compliant onboarding process prior to contractor deployments. This has included visa and work permit administration and logistics, travel support, and orchestrating medicals
- Provided in-country practical support for contractors such as airport “meet and greets” and supporting with personal logistics such as setting up bank accounts, advising on schooling and providing translation services

We met the tight timeframe in time for the legislation changes, and transitioned 211 contractors across Azerbaijan to become NES Fircroft contractors
