 is looking for an Assistant Manager Finance based in Abu Dhabi.
Our client is an international energy company, headquartered in Abu Dhabi.

Executive Summary:
Support on finance, accounting, commercial and economic aspects of investments in USA in accordance with client policies and procedures. Facilitate value creation and stewardship through monitoring performance of the investments and analysis of investment decisions.
Main responsibilities include supporting the supervisor on performance management, monthly reports, accounting, audits, budgeting and reporting. The job also entails ad-hoc special projects for senior management. The job requires understanding of underlying agreements and local financial compliance.

Role Dimension:
Responsible for supporting accounting and management reporting for investments in USA in line with client policies and procedures and assist in management decision making process.

Key Responsibilities:

     Business Planning and Budgeting
  • Preparation of 5-Year annual plan by: a) Gathering information, assumptions, building templates & providing deliverables, b) working on financial models, c) Make presentation on budget prepared with detailed analysis.
  • Preparation of consolidated reports, Plan-on-Plan analysis.
  • Upload business plan inputs into financial systems
     Monthly/ Quarterly performance reporting
  • Perform monthly accounting based on information received from the Operator/ fund manager (in line with IFRS)
  • Prepare monthly forecast report for investments with variance analysis & provide commentary.
  • Upload Forecast into financial systems
  • Prepare monthly cash forecast
  • Prepare quarterly impairment assessment
  • Analyse the Statement of financial position to highlight the risks and opportunities.
     Asset Management Support
  • Support Asset Management team in Investment analysis and any ad-hoc requests which will include understanding economic models prepared by consultants/ in house modelling team.
  • Attend Asset Management meeting as and when required
  • Provide support for monthly/ quarterly reviews.
  • Prepare the financial analysis relevant for seeking delegation of authority approvals.

     Accounting and Statutory Audits
  • Support internal and external audit teams in planning and executing audits.
  • Prepare general ledger journal entries.
  • Review the customer/ vendor invoices and general ledger for maintaining the integrity of financial information
  • Develop and execute post-audit action plans
  • Provide financial information required for quarterly/ year-end statutory audits and group reporting and update the same on financial systems.
  • Preparation of financial statements and extend audit support.
     Financial / Tax compliance
  • Support the financial and tax compliance team based on laws and regulations
     Debt Management
  • Manage the external and shareholding financing agreements entered for the purposes of the investments and ensure timely financial compliance / reporting internally and externally.
Experience and Skills:
  • The incumbent should be a finance professional (ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 7 years post -qualification experience.
  • Progressive work experience in IFRS and US GAAP is required.
  • Experience in management reporting and budgeting processes is preferred.
  • Experience in a reputed oil and gas company / oil and gas division of a Big 4 Audit firm will be an advantage.
  • Experience in financial modelling will be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge for Oil and Gas Sector (including Petroleum fiscal regimes, economic analysis is essential).
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Working knowledge of Think-Cell will be an added advantage.
  • Information systems working knowledge (Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, Jedox and/or similar Corporate Business Planning and Reporting software) preferred.
  • Excellent command on MS Office suite (especially MS Word Excel and PowerPoint).
