Job Title: Civil Project Engineer - Waterways (Local preferred)
Project Location: Pakil, Laguna

SUMMARY

The Civil Project Engineer - Waterways will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of waterway civil works for the largest pumped storage hydroelectric power plant in the Philippines. This role involves direct engagement in the construction of dams, intake and outlet structures, tunnels, and related water conveyance systems. The Civil Project Engineer will ensure that all activities align with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines, while coordinating closely with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise daily civil construction activities, particularly those related to waterway structures.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure adherence to approved plans and technical specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections and track progress of water-related infrastructure components.
  • Review and validate construction drawings, method statements, and material submissions.
  • Support QA/QC inspections and ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including reports, logs, and as-built drawings.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical, structural, and environmental teams for integrated site execution.
  • Enforce environmental, health, and safety (EHS) protocols on-site.
  • Resolve technical issues in coordination with site engineers and foremen.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for project leadership and stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; PRC license preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on hydropower projects specifically on waterway infrastructure (e.g., dams, tunnels, intake/outlet structures).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and project tracking tools (MS Project or Primavera).
  • Familiarity with relevant standards (DPWH, ASTM, ACI).
  • Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
