NES Fircroft are working alongside a Major Oil & Gas Operator seeking a Communications & External Affairs Advisor located in Kwinana, WA.

Job Title: Communications & External Affairs Advisor
Length of contract: 12 month contract
Location: Kwinana, WA
Hours per day: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday
WFH Flexibility: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
Start Date: ASAP
Process: Two rounds of interviews
 
Successful candidate will have:
- At least 5-10 years of related experience
- Candidate must have government & stakeholder relation experience
- Candidate must have project & change management experience
- Candidate must be strong writer & from public relations background
 
About the role:
  • The role reports to the Communications and External Affairs Manager Kwinana (WA) within Communications & External Affairs. As required this role may support other projects or operations.
  • It will be part of a team of communications and external affairs professionals providing specialist advice and assistance in the preparation and implementation of communication strategies and non-technical risk management.
  • The successful applicant will support activities and projects associated with the site operations and transition projects and activities in Kwinana, including supporting site safety, culture and wellbeing initiatives.
  • The role will involve supporting change communications, project communications, communications outputs. The role will also support stakeholder engagement and community relations in support of the site’s operations and transition.
  • The Communications Advisor will produce a range of creative communications materials for digital and traditional platforms as well as working closely with colleagues from across the country on major events and communication initiatives.
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Contribute to stakeholder and strategic communications initiatives in support of our client’s operations and transition projects in Western Australia, including biofuels and renewable hydrogen projects.
  • Produce a range of creative content and communications materials in support of the site and client strategic objectives.
  • Ability to communicate technical and operational information in a creative and easy to understand manner.
  • Develop narratives, publications, visual materials, website and digital content.
  • Prepare and implement Communications Plans across internal and external channels.
  • Deliver stakeholder engagement and communications materials in support of change management and project delivery
  • Work with C&EA colleagues to ensure best practice corporate communications to engage and empower the broader team.
  • Deliver communications in support of site safety and wellbeing programs and campaigns, including emergency response

Essential Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. This could include communications, environmental management, change management, economics or social and political sciences.
 
Essential Experience:
  • Experience in strategic communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience content creator
  • Understanding of government, stakeholder and community relations in Perth and Western Australia
  • Experience in change management desirable
  • Excellent networking capability and inter-personnel skills
  • A proven ability to work on simultaneous projects to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and communication skills
  • Mastery of digital communication tools
  • A collaborative and creative approach
  • Experience working in industrial environments
  • Experience in major project delivery and change management
  • Experience in government, regulatory or political settings
  • Experience in industry or operational environments
  • A good understanding of energy transition challenges and opportunities.
  • Additional post graduate qualification in relevant subject.
