The Communications Specialist - Low Carbon Technologies Communications, is a key member of the Sustainable Development and Government Affairs Communications team, which is part of the Corporate Communications organization. The TITLE will provide tactical communications support to the Low Carbon Technologies (LCT) Senior Advisor and implement internal and external communications strategies and tactics in support of the organization’s business objectives.
Reporting to the Director, Sustainability and Government Affairs Communications, the role requires significant levels of self-management, content development and interaction with all levels of the organization. As the selected candidate, you will show proficiency in areas such as project organization, information gathering, writing and planning in support of external and internal communications efforts.  
Responsibilities may include:
  • Implement communications plans and tactics in support of the Low Carbon Technologies organization.
  • Develop content for internal and external communications channels including emails, the company’s intranet, presentations, videos, and more to further business objectives.
  • Support external communications activities including key messages, talking points and presentations.
  • Prepare draft materials and presentations for approval for low-carbon and sustainability-related speaking engagements and industry events.
  • Maintain and organize repository for LCT communications products.
  • Develop internal communications stories and related products through subject matter interviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic/Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or other relevant field or foreign equivalent.
  • 5+ years of communications experience in a PR agency or consultancy, state/federal government, or adjacent energy sector experience.
  • Experience managing and resolving complex new energies public affairs issues.
  • Demonstrated passion for low carbon technologies and new energies. 
  • Understanding of organizational change management practices and considerations.
  • Evidence of strong communication, planning, organization and execution.
  • Successful track record as a proactive team player, ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Must possess superior research, writing and editing skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities, often with tight deadlines.
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-oriented dynamic environment with regular change
