My client is currently seeking a Construction Cost Estimator to join their Long Beach Office! This will be a contract assingment with the intent to turn direct. 

Job Experience
:
Part-Time
3-5 years.

Education:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
 
Certifications:
Certification in cost estimation or related fields (e.g., AACE International certification) is a plus.

General Description: As a TIC Estimator, you will play a vital role in accurately estimating the total installed cost of engineering and construction projects using the Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure precise cost estimation throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, exceptional attention to detail, and expertise in utilizing Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator for project estimation.

Key Attributes:
  1. Utilize Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator to develop detailed estimates for engineering and construction projects.
  2. Collaborate with project teams to understand project scope, specifications, and requirements to ensure accurate cost estimations.
  3. Analyze project documents, drawings, and technical specifications to identify all cost elements and potential risks.
  4. Work closely with procurement specialists to obtain accurate pricing information from vendors and subcontractors.
  5. Prepare comprehensive cost reports, including breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and other expenses, for project stakeholders to review.
  6. Participate in project meetings and discussions to provide expertise on cost estimation matters and contribute to decision-making processes.
  7. Continuously monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes in scope, market conditions, and other factors.
  8. Provide support during the bid process by preparing cost estimates and assisting in developing bid proposals.

Qualifications:
  1. Proven experience as a TIC Estimator, preferably in the engineering or construction of the oil refinery industry.
  2. Proficiency in utilizing Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator for cost estimation is essential.
  3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  6. Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
  7. Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
