NES Fircroft are currently recruiting a Construction Engineer – Civil/ Structural on behalf of our valued client, a Global Oil and Gas Operator, on an initial 12 month contract.
Position title: Construction Engineer – Civil/Structural
Start date: ASAP
Roster: 21/21 (11 hours)
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and leadership to achieve an Incident and Injury Free Workplace through onsite engagements
- Champion work place safety with a focus on prevent SIF’s.
- Proactively share learnings that are related to construction. Ensure that the project adopts safety principles of having safe guards in place that are functioning.
- Manage interfaces between the civil construction contractor and engineering primarily through the Technical Query process.
- The candidate will need to understand the deliverables required from engineering to drive Efficient Execution for Civil works onsite.
- Interfaces with the Construction Engineers to drive the Construction Execution plans, Scope Of Works, award of the Fabrication and Site Execution Contracts.
- Strong communication skills are required to ensure alignment between stakeholders and to provide updates to the Onsite Construction Lead on schedule and quality.
- Support the deployment of fit for purpose work processes, guidelines, policies, and standards that will ensure technical superiority, quality of the work product, effective project execution, capital stewardship and efficiency
- Work with the Operations Science Analyst on site to deploy initiatives to maximise productivity onsite.
- Identify barriers and work with the Operations Science Analyst and Civils contractor to resolve.
Key Skills / Experienc
- The role will need to manage a number of interfaces to ensure efficient execution of the works.
- 5-10 years civil engineering and construction experience in a project work environment.
- Experienced with civil engineering standards, principles and concepts would be preferred. A broad understanding of various disciplines would be advantageous.
- The civil scope includes the installation of undergrounds at Drill Centres to support a fluid treating facilities and trenching for a cable run.
- Able to engage with high level stakeholders and clearly communicate project value drivers, status and risks.
