37.5 hours per week, Mon to Fri 08.00-17.00
(Hybrid working available after initial settling in period)

The Role

Provide Contract and Commercial management services to the UK Local Division ensuring all contract management activities are executed in accordance with Company directives and instructions including all procedures and the Contract Management Framework.

This role will report to the division UK Commercial Manager and operationally to the PMO Manager. 

Responsibilities

1. Contract portfolio - governance
Ensures the portfolio of projects in execution follows the contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard procedures.
Ensure records of contract claims and variations are archived.

2. Contract execution
Supports Project Management Operations to understand and execute the contracts. Supports PMO in resolution of disputes arising from existing contracts and maximising variation order opportunities in execution.

4. Contract and claims
Defends as needed company contractual interests against customer and suppliers, in support of Project Managers. In concert with Legal Counsels, develops the negotiation strategy and supports negotiations. Notifies and liaises with Legal to report major claims and keeps Legal updated of any critical development during project execution.

5. Purchasing
Supports Supply Chain Management in execution of purchase agreements, in line with contractual commitments and any flow-downs from customer agreements.

6. Risk Management
Analyses prime contract terms to highlight areas of potential opportunity and risk, such as ambiguities, omissions and conflicts, as work proceeds. Develops and implements risk mitigation and opportunity plan in concert with Project Managers.

7. Insurance
Ensures contract insurance provisions are adhered to and co-ordinates with Insurance Risk Management regarding occurrences that may be covered by customer or company provided insurance.

8. Export controls
Seek advice from Legal (Export Control) to support Project Management in ensuring accurate handling of all export control matters and review projects for items such as : restrictions on exports, country of origin, trade tariffs, customers or products involved and the respective laws and company regulations.

Candidate Requirements

- You will preferably be degree qualified and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Contract Formation / Management, Dispute Management or Claims Handling.
- Significant experience within the Automation / Electrical sector associated with Energy Industries, Power and Water, and Chemicals markets for Service and Projects
- A clear grasp of contract negotiations, risk management, and commercial and legal terms
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills, a customer-focused mindset and a professional, “can-do” attitude
