About the Role
This role is critical to the creation and ongoing maintenance of all regulatory, public, and Indigenous consultation/engagement plans to support the effective implementation of permits necessary for the client's operations. Reporting to the Corporate Relations Manager – Phase 1 & Asset, this position is accountable for ensuring robust stakeholder consultation and engagement strategies are in place and executed in alignment with project and asset timelines.
The position will support the development of strategic consultation and engagement plans across various business functions within the client’s organization. It plays a vital role in ensuring all regulatory, public, and Indigenous engagement plans are developed and effectively implemented to enable timely permitting and support compliance throughout operations.
The role also includes coordination and support for key community engagements during commissioning, start-up, and operational phases, while helping to identify issues and support dispute resolution with multiple stakeholders and Indigenous communities related to consultation and regulatory compliance.

  • Participate in, and occasionally lead, engagement sessions with municipal, provincial, and federal bodies.
  • Coordinate and support key stakeholder engagement platforms such as social and environmental forums.
You will use your expertise to:
  • Collaborate with regulatory, environment, and compliance teams to communicate consultation requirements.
  • Apply deep knowledge of provincial and federal consultation frameworks, particularly regarding Indigenous and public engagement.
  • Integrate mitigation and adaptive management approaches into consultation processes.
  • Contribute to team initiatives within Corporate Relations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to consultation and permitting.
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity in all interactions with Indigenous groups.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in consultation related to regulatory and permitting in British Columbia.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong background in Indigenous and stakeholder consultation in regulated sectors.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across teams without direct authority.
  • Resilient, with experience in conflict resolution and risk communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in issue response, emergency management, and crisis communications.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
