Overview This position ensures that plant Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) accurately reflect field conditions in preparation for Process Hazard Analyses (PHA). The role involves updating P&IDs using AutoCAD software and working a standard 40-hour on-site week, with potential overtime during Turnaround periods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Print P&ID sets based on lists provided by Process and Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Conduct field verification of piping accuracy on drawings, including:
- Vents and drains (with sizes)
- Drawing continuations between sheets
- Equipment specifications
- Car seal bands and missing CSV numbers
- Valve positions (open/shut) per P&ID
- Dead legs
- Safety and maintenance issues (e.g., exposed asbestos, missing bull plugs, sagging lines, leaks)
- Mark up P&IDs to correct discrepancies and errors.
- Prepare check prints and redlines for process engineer review prior to PHA.
- Finalize corrections and notify Document Control for repository updates.
- Participate in Management of Change (MOC) by updating P&IDs affected by field changes. Basic/Required Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometrics, and plan drawings.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Physically fit to walk long distances and climb stairs/ladders in a refinery setting.
- Experience using AutoCAD for P&ID drafting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with engineers and unit operators.
- Effective time management and flexibility to support additional requests.
- Experience in engineering, refinery, chemical, or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with project document control systems.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and equipment documentation.
- Knowledge of SAP Document Management System.
- Awareness of refinery safety requirements and equipment.
- Extended periods in the refinery environment, including:
- Walking and climbing ladders/stairs (excluding scaffolds or areas requiring fall protection)
- Working at heights, including towers over 100 feet
- Compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, fire-resistant clothing, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection
