Job Description -
Key Accountabilities
• Participates in multi-discipline well planning team.
• Develops well plans in agreement with stated well and project objectives and in full compliance with applicable policies, standards and regulations, with a focus on safety of personnel, environmental stewardship and operational integrity.
• Assisting in preparation and submission of all required government permits and ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Assists the preparation and evaluation of tenders/bids for all drilling support services and materials.
• Develops effective relationships with the vendor community to achieve alignment of COP and vendor goals.
• Provides engineering support to drilling operations to ensure delivery of the well objectives through daily interface with onsite personnel.
• Develops goals and performance metrics.
Tracks and measures metrics and implementing improvements as necessary.
• Prepares and conducts peer reviews and posting well audits in order to ensure continuous improvement.
• Participates in benchmarking studies (both internal and external to COP) to identify, transfer and apply best engineering and operational practices.
• Promoting knowledge sharing by developing effective relationships with COP technical SME's and participating in COP NOE's and industry technical societies (i.
e.
SPE, AADE, etc.
).
Required and Preferred Skills and Experience
• Expert level, typically 10+ years of experience.
• Technical specialist in all areas of discipline.
• Highest non-supervisory level.
• Is known across the organization for their expertise, strategic vision and enterprise perspective.
• Creates unprecedented solutions to complex, non-routine problems.
• Provides recommendations to management within business/functional team and occasionally across business lines/regions.
• Often provides specialized technical/functional guidance to others within business unit/functional areas.
